The good parts- I liked both the h/H
I loved Mama
I liked the secondary characters
I felt like the authors didn't know if the romance was first or second in the book.
I felt there there should have been more dialogue vs telling.
I am horrible with grammer but it truly bugged me that they didn't know the difference between: there & their
Where & were or we're
I think you get the idea
I actually did enjoy this book, it had times of going too fast, and the plot would slow down to a crawl, like they didn't know where to go.
It did have some funny spots but if their going for hilarious they may need to look at Shelley Laurenstens writing because she can really have hilarious inner dialogues and also spoken dialogues with her shifter series. I will continue with this series because with it being the first in the series I'm hoping it will just get better.

Big Bad Bite Big Bad Bite Series Book 1 edition by Jessie Lane Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

I had a hard time finishing this book mostly because I was bored. The author detailed and described EVERYTHING repeatedly and made the pages seem longer than they were. Pretty sure the editor could have shaved AT LEAST 7,000 words out and the book would have been better for it. I found myself barely skimming 3 and 4 pages at a time just to get thru it. Even then I had to force myself not to give up.

Adam (swoon) and all the secondary characters were great, but I was annoyed with Jenna. I understand wanting to make your female lead strong and capable, but she came off as more of a b**** than an independent, self assured woman. And she was really wishy-washy when it came to Adam. That poor shifter deserved better.

I enjoyed the dialogue of the secondary characters and would've liked to read more about them in their own stories, however I'm afraid to be beaten to death by the never ending descriptions so I think I'm gonna pass on that.
Big bad bite was an ok read, I would say it's almost a 2.5 rating in my book. There was alot of things I liked, and alot of things I really didn't like..

Let's start with the things I liked, I LOVED Adam, and the whole 'Alpha' thing he had going on with Jenna. He comes off crazy and possessive alot of the time...but at the same time it's kinda sexy since he is suppose to be that way. I liked the variety of paranormal beings in the novel, Demons, Vampires, Shifters that turn into either a wolf, bear, or Tiger. Overall though Adam was my favorite part of Big Bad Bite.

Now what I didn't like, was Jenna. Jenna is one bad ass, snarky lady. I love snarky characters, and I LOVE bad ass chicks. But Jenna annoyed me, and she annoyed me quite often. Her insults were repetitive, and felt forced as if the author would take any chance she got to have Jenna insult a male character. Also while I did love Adam and Jenna's relationship, I wish there would have been more times of them together and them not having sex, I'm not saying there was too much sex, just not enough non-sex time between them.

Besides not liking Jenna that much, I also had some trouble with the writing. I felt like a good portion of the book was explaining things to me, and while I am glad to understand how things work and know a bunch about the characters past (etc), I felt Big Bad Bite OVER explained, which really bored me. I wish there would have been more dialogue between the characters compared to all the explaining. But that is just my personal preference of writing, I know alot of other people love when books are extremely detailed. Also there was quite a few errors I noticed while reading, which doesn't bother me one bit, but I know it does for other people, so now you're warned.

Was this book bad? No not at all. I enjoyed Big Bad Bite. It just had some rough edges. I think if you're someone that enjoys urban fantasy, some very steamy sex scenes, and snarky characters, then this may be something you would enjoy.

Side note I am currently not sure if I will read the sequel once it is released.
This was a well written story - and by that, I mean that the dialogue was actually descent. It wasn't choppy and the characters had there own voice. The female lead is a SWAT team member and a werewolf/demon. I didn't like that she was almost too perfect in the story and I was getting ready to delete it when suddenly the supporting characters started to be just as tough or tougher than the female lead which actually made me like her more. The character suddenly had some depth and could be defeated so she wasn't so perfect and without faults. The male character was a bit typical of what romance writers have been writing lately - alpha male with a heart of gold who isn't just out for himself but also his pack.
The plot was a bit thin and you will have to read the next book to find what its all about but the book can be read as a stand alone. Truthfully I found some of the secondary characters more interesting than the main characters but of course they will be in separate books. I will probably not buy any more by this author simply because she is drawing out the plot so much - I'd hate to read more and then find out that the plot is run of the mill boring. It seems like another "we must protect the Other community from the humans finding out about us." And of course you have another pack that's trying to subjugate humanity. Its been done pretty much in almost every book about shifters.
Its not a bad book just not as original as it could be.
