We're back at Club Prive, and a good many old friends are there, but this book is about Dena. And I can already tell that it's gonna be a good one. Dena is now twenty-six and ready for a change. She has a shot at her dream job: an opening in the district attorney's office, a chance to put the bad guys away at last. But there are unexpected drawbacks. Two lawyers were hired at the same time, Dena and a tail, dark and handsome fella, who seems to think his many charms should entitle him to take the easy road while Dena does the scut work. To ice this cake, their female boss agrees with him, and when Dena discovers their sexual shenanigans taking place in the office, she doesn't quit in disgust, she calms down and plots their downfall. Gotta love this woman, no? I can't wait to see how that works out! Meanwhile, she finally, finally meets a man who has what it takes to please her. He's a Dom, but a real one, the sort who understands that he's responsible for taking care of his sub's needs, too, and that humiliation isn't part of the relationship. Even better, when he learns that she's also a switch, that sometimes she likes to be the Domme, it doesn't frighten him off in the least. In fact, it excites him. Their relationship is hot enough to singe the pages as you read them, and even with all of the crap going on in her life at work, it gives me hope that things just might work out after all. It's no surprise that this series is great. I read many books from this author and I am never disappointed. If you are a person who easily gets flustered when it comes to books with sex, swearing or the BDSM lifestyle then this book is not for you. There are several steamy scenes, some conflict, many different emotions, a little bit of mystery and well written. The characters in this book are well portrayed and if you read other books from this author, you will catch up on some of the characters from previous books. It is an easy read and quite enjoyable. I was asked to give my honest opinion and in doing so received this book at a discounted price.
Dena, finally leaving the law firm she and her three befriends started out at. Following her dream of working as a ADA, she's still filling like something missing in her life. Dena, enjoys being dominant, being in control, but she also likes to give up that control from time to time and lately she's not even finding a release at Club Prive.
Arek, new to New York, just took a junior position at a highly sought after law firm after leaving his senior position as a lawyer in Chicago. Arek, enjoys being in control of all things work related, his personal life and women. Checking out the local clubs, that cater to his needs Arek, has spent some time at Club Prive, but has yet to find anyone to satisfy his particular taste. Checking out a new club he sees her and spends a hot night with her. Going their separate ways will they cross paths again?
It started off okay, even though I am not into BDSM, I'm fine reading about it as along as the story surrounding it is good. This is a series and I find I will not be continuing this series. I'm not into the H and h being together, but not, and have other relationships when they're written to be so into each other (I peeked ahead into the other volumes) and Dena's main whine at the beginning of this book is wanting the relationship two of her best friends found. It ends on Arick being spotted with another woman and she's hurt by it. What brought this down even more for me, is Dena's lack of action when she encounters her boss with her co-worker. She walks away to think about it? And she's supposed to be this top notch attorney? More, she's in her dream job as an ADA and she can't bust her boss and inferior co-worker? Something she did not pick up on that was way obvious? I picked up on it as soon as it was the least bit hinted. I would have whipped out a recording device so fast they'd still be wondering how the hell they lost their jobs and this book became an entire serious on corruption in the DA's office? No thank you.
This book brings the reader back to Club Prive, with Dena one of the girls catching up with her friends at the BDSM club. Dena is ready for a change; she has accepted a new job at the DA's office but she is religated to the grunt work. She needs a reprive from the monotomy and finds the sexy redhead Arik at another club. They seem to have an immediate attraction to each other
"For many months I'd felt like a caged animal, unable to escape the restlessness inside me. But now that I was effectively restrained, I felt freer than I had in a very long time. It might not have made sense to a lot of people, but some of us were just wired that way."
